ATTENTION: TUMBLR USERS IN NORTH CAROLINA
The North Carolina General Assembly has introduced a constitutional amendment to the North Carolina State Constitution which would “provide that marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State.”
- Voting on the amendment is TODAY.
- Voting hours are 6:30am to 7:30pm.
Aside from the obvious discriminatory nature of the amendment, it is poorly worded and thought out and would harm the rights of ALL couples — no more civil unions and a loss of rights for any unwed couples.
Remember to vote ‘AGAINST’ this amendment.
There’s still time — spread the word and if you can, vote!
Hey everyone, remember the nightmare that was SOPA and PIPA? IT’S NOT OVER!
Reports say that lawmakers will vote on the bill as early as Wednesday, April 25th or Thursday, April 26th. It isn’t looking very good. It is of utmost importance that you contact your local representatives to tell them that you do not agree with this bill and they shouldn’t either. Make your voice heard. Don’t let this happen.Want to learn more about CISPA? Check out the EFF’s Cybersecurity Bill FAQ.
Don’t know who your representatives are? Just use this.
It takes maybe five minutes of your time to do this — make the effort. It will certainly be worth it.
GUYS. WE REALLY SHOULD CARE ABOUT THIS. LET’S GET ON THIS SHIT.
Sorry guys to make you feel scared but we need to stand up again !
Well that can’t be good…
U.S. Americans, it’s very easy to contact your representatives after looking up their number. Just leave a message, encourage everyone you know to do the same, and even call to follow up.

“It’s a real massacre in every sense of the word. I saw bodies of women and children lying on roads beheaded. It’s horrible and inhuman. It was a long night helping people get to hospitals.” - Abu Jihad, Khalidiya resident
“We are not getting any help, there are no ambulances or anything. We are removing the people with our own hands. […] We have dug out at least 100 bodies so far, they are placed in the two mosques.” - anonymous Syrian activist
“We were sitting inside our house when we started hearing the shelling. We felt shells were falling on our heads.” - Waleed, Khalidiya resident
“It does not seem that they get it. Even if they kill 10 million of us, the people will not stop until we topple him.” - anonymous Syrian resident
As many as 260 people have been killed since Friday across Homs, Syria, according to several opposition groups, marking the deadliest day of violence since anti-government protests began in mid-March.
The UN Security Council will meet Saturday morning to vote on a resolution condemning the Syrian government’s violent response to the ongoing protests.
Multiple Syrian embassies across Europe and the Middle East were attacked by demonstrators Friday and Saturday to protest the recent assault on anti-Assad activists in Syria.
This month marks the 30th anniversary of the massacre in Hama, Syria. In February 1982, President Hafez Assad, Bashar Assad’s father attempted to crush a rebellion by shelling the city of Hama and bringing in bulldozers to destroy the neighborhood. An estimated 20,000 people were killed over three weeks.

</3 :’( Pray for the people of Syria!Allah lay waf2ak ya bashar>:(
Why is it that NCIS and freaking Bieber get precedence over this on news sites? All it says on Yahoo! is “Syria Resolution vetoed”, and the massacre isn’t even mentioned until you actually click on the article. What the heck.

Missing: 13-year-old Darcie Hudson (OH) http://bit.ly/w0pFbi
The East Cleveland Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a missing teen girl.
Darcie P. Hudson, 13, was last seen at Heritage Middle School on Terrace Road Thursday. Police say Darcie’s father picks her up every day from school, and that he became concerned when she did not come out of the school Thursday.
Darcie is described as being 5’2”, 115 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a brown, puffy jacket with wool sleeves, pink hoodie and her school uniform which consists of a white shirt, black pants and black boots.
According to the ECPD, the missing persons report is not being handled as a runaway case, as Darcie has no prior history of doing so. In addition, her father told police he wasn’t aware of anything that would prompt her to stay away from home.
The FBI is also investigating the case due to the duration of her disappearance.
Anyone with information on Darcie Hudson’s whereabouts is asked to call the East Cleveland Police Department at (216) 451-1234 or (216) 681-2368.
As always, even if you’re not in the area, spread the word.

Meet Omari. Two days ago he returned from the hospital after being hacked in the face by a machete defending an orphanage of 35 children by himself.
This man dedicates his life to take care of 35 orphaned children from the ages of 2-17 in Kenya. A couple of days ago a group of thugs raided the orphanage to pilage anything they could find, after beating and slashing Omari’s face for defending the children and himself from a previous attempted attack.
The only thing the children are living off of right now are things growing from their small garden, and eggs from a couple of chickens in their coup. Reddit looked to aim to raise $2,000 a couple of hours ago to help build a concrete wall around the orphanage with a 3 layered barbed-wire coil set on top.
In 3 hours, over $11,000 has been donated - and all the extra money is going to feeding them, giving them an education, keeping these children (and many more) safe, and building a new facility.
Please feel free to donate here:
